Environmental

Justice Program

Since 2005, the Environmental Justice Project of Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Stockton has used its unique Catholic voice to improve air quality, lower carbon emissions, advocate for sustainable community growth, and reduce the impacts of climate change in the San Joaquin Valley.

We are particularly concerned with how these environmental challenges harm poor and vulnerable communities. The EJ Program works in both San Joaquin and Stanislaus County. For more information about the program, please check out the program website here!

Staff is working remotely to continue advocating for vulnerable communities. Staff continue to work with Valley Air District to conduct the AB 617. Meetings for Safe Routes to Park and Stanislaus Sustainable Communities Coalition are being conducted through Zoom. General plan workshops are being conducted by webinars.
