SNAP-ED

This program provides food and nutrition education to Cal Fresh eligible individuals to promote healthy food preparation through demonstration and education.

The goals of this interactive program are to increase the consumption of fruits and vegetables, decrease the consumption of sugar-sweetened beverages, increase the consumption of water, and increase physical activity. Nutrition Educators use colorful, easy to understand USDA My Plate guidelines to teach about reading food labels, choosing whole grains and stretching your food dollar. Most classes end with a cooking demonstration and delicious samples of nutritious foods.

This program is offered in San Joaquin County. For more information call (209) 812-0717.
