Elder Abuse Prevention Program

Nurse tending to elderly man

The Elder Abuse Prevention Program of Catholic Charities educates approximately 3, 942 individuals each year in Stanislaus and the Mother Lode Counties.

We work in partnership with the Area Agency on Aging and District Attorney’s office and others.

The Elder Abuse Prevention Program was created to prevent and educate the public about the physical, emotional and financial abuse of seniors in our communities. Outreach efforts include presentations and training sessions for Certified Nursing Assistants, facility staff, clergy, service organizations, financial institutions and other mandated reporters. Topics include mandated reporting procedures, identity theft, scams and other abusive situations which victimize seniors and other dependent adults.
